Women's Tennis Stays Unbeaten With Senior Day Win Over Austin Peay, 5-2

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Women's Tennis remained undefeated at 19-0 when it defeated Austin Peay, 5-2, on Senior Day at UNF Tennis Complex on Sunday.

With the win, North Florida finished its spring season with a 13-0 home record. It marked the fourth season in its Division I program history with an undefeated home record.

North Florida honored four seniors – Laurie Barendse, Anslee Long, Jasmin Makela and Isabel Oliveira – after the conclusion of the match.

Senior Laurie Barendse and graduate student Isabel Oliveira opened a 4-0 lead at the top doubles point and maintained the margin for a 6-2 win. Graduate student Anslee Long and sophomore Aryana Bartlett secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the two spot.

Bartlett extended the lead with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win on the three line in singles action. Oliveira added a 6-2, 6-2 win on two and Barendse clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the one line. Austin Peay secured a three-set win on court five and six for its points.

Sophomore Gabby Goyins added a 6-3, 6-3 win at the four spot in singles. Goyins remains undefeated in singles action at 17-0.
