
Four-Match Road Swing for @OspreyWTen Finishes Saturday

JACKSONVILLE - North Florida women's tennis wraps up its four-match road swing with a trip to No. 34 Clemson on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
The Ospreys are currently 4-2 on the season and coming off a 1-1 weekend in Alabama. UNF dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 35 Auburn before defeating Troy the next day by the same score. For her efforts, junior Michelle Valdez earned Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors.
Valdez owns the team's best singles mark with a 13-10 overall reord and is 2-2 in dual matches. With doubles partner, Hannah Fluhrer, Valdez has a 4-2 mark in the No. 3 slot. Noemi Hemmerich continues to pace the team in dual singles matches with a 4-2 mark, while freshman Rafaela Gomez has made an immediate impact with a 4-1 mark in the No. 4 slot. In doubles play, Gomez and Luise Intert are 4-1 in the No. 2 position, dropping their lone match to No. 35 Auburn.
Clemson is 3-3 on the season with its three losses coming to all top 40 teams in the SEC. Most recently the Tigers grabbed a 5-2 victory from #43 Wake Forest. Four Tigers are in the Top 100 ITA singles rankings led by Joana Eidukonyte who is No. 13 in the nation. Ayan Broomfield (50), Theresa Piontek (83) and Fernanda Navarro (92) are also ranked. Eidukonyte and doubles partner Piontek sit in 44th in doubles ranking with a 4-1 mark on the season. Recently though Eidukonyte has been playing doubles matches in the No. 3 spot with Daniela Ruiz.
