Women's Tennis Falls To Miami (Fla.) In First Round Of NCAA Championship

AUBURN, Ala. – North Florida Women's Tennis fell in the First Round of the NCAA Championship against Miami, 4-0, at Yarbrough Tennis Center on Friday.
It marked North Florida's only loss this season after entering the NCAA Tournament as the only undefeated Division I team in the nation.
North Florida's 25-1 record in 2026 marks its highest win total and win percentage for a single-season in program history.
Senior Laurie Barendse and graduate student Isabel Oliveira opened doubles action with an early 2-1 lead on court one. Sophomore Gabby Goyins and senior Jasmin Makela started strong in doubles as well, earning a 2-1 lead on court three.
Miami earned doubles wins on courts two and one to secure the doubles point.
Oliveira and Goyins were solid to open singles action, each earning first-set victories on courts two and five.
Miami brought the score to its eventual final margin with singles wins on courts six, four and one.
