Women's Tennis Closes Out Fall Slate at Home Invite

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis closes out its fall slate as it hosts the UNF Invite beginning on Friday with South Alabama, Troy, Flagler and Barry bringing athletes to compete. The first set of matches begins at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Sophomore Rafaela Gomez currently leads the team with a 7-4 mark in tournament play, while Michelle Valdez is close behind with a 6-4 record. Gomez is coming off a semifinals run in the consolation bracket at the ITA Southeast Regional in October.

In doubles play, Lucia Montaño and Valdez each have four victories. The Ospreys are still feeling out their doubles partners as there has been seven different combinations during the fall season.

Due to some teams bringing less than six players, the teams will combine during matches to play.
