Findel-Hawkins, Muscheites Advance in ITA All-American Championship

TULSA, Okla. - North Florida men's tennis senior Jack Findel-Hawkins won his first round match at the ITA All-American Championship in the qualifying bracket on Monday afternoon.
Findel-Hawkins faced off with Enzo Sommer from Washington and defeated him, 6-1, 6-4 to advance. In the second round, Findel-Hawkins plays Nathan Ponwith from Georgia.
In doubles action, Lasse Muscheites and Findel-Hawkins paired up against Tulane's Chi-Shan Jao and Constantin Schmitz. The Green Wave duo, ranked No. 30, could not overcome the Ospreys, as Findel-Hawkins and Muscheites topped the pair, 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 64.Â
Muscheites and Findel-Hawkins advanced to play a pair from Washington and once again came out on the winning side of things with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. North Florida now faces Connor Curry and Ronnit Bisht from Texas Tech.
Despite playing four prequalifying matches on two days prior, junior Jefta Kecic was on the court for a battle in the qualifying round against Drake's Vincent Gillespie. Kecic gave it his all, but the match went to Gillespie.
Kecic now faces Gonzalo Raschiatore from Middle Tennessee State on Tuesday.
If the Ospreys advance past Tuesday, they will have Wednesday off before preparing for the main draw on Thursday.
