#WGolf Claims Top 10 Finish at Kiawah Island Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The North Florida women's golf team posted their fourth consecutive Top 10 showing Tuesday, finishing ninth in a field of 36 teams at the Kiawah Island Classic.
The Ospreys carded a final round 312 at the Cougar Point Course of Kiawah Island Golf Resort to end the 54-hole event with total of 918. Sophomore Emelie Alpe was the squad's top performer on the final day shooting a 4-over 76.
Freshman Nathalie Nygren led the UNF lineup finishing tied for 33rd at 229 including a final round 80. Sophomore Kelly Aylwin fired a 77 on Tuesday en route to posting a tie for 37th (230), while freshman Lauren Coe matched her teammate with a 230 (T-37th) following a 79. Alpe finished tied for 42nd at 231 and sophomore Belind George rounded out the Osprey performers in a tie for 70th at 236.
Kent State carded a three-day total of 892, winning the team championship by 14 strokes over Penn State (906). High Point finished third (907) with Chattanooga (908), Jacksonville State (910), Arkansas State (913), Troy (913), College of Charleston (914), UNF and Elon (920) filling out the Top 10 standings.
North Florida makes a quick turnaround as the Ospreys will host the UNF Intercollegiate on Mar. 10-11 at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
