
Solid Play Pushes #WGolf Near Top of Leaderboard at UNF Intercollegiate

JACKSONVILLE – With all five players listed among the Top 20 individuals, the North Florida women's golf team is in second place after 36 holes of play Monday in the UNF Intercollegiate at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
The Ospreys carded a 313 in Monday's morning session before matching the low round of the day shooting a 305 during afternoon play. UNF owns a two-round total of 618 and is just five shots behind team leader Western Carolina.
Sophomore Emelie Alpe led the way for UNF on day one boasting rounds of 78-74 for a total 152, which has her tied for fourth. Fellow sophomore Kelly Aylwin ended the day tied for 10th at 155, after rounds of 79-76.
Freshman Lauren Coe carded back-to-back rounds of 78 to tie for 12th (156) while freshman Nathalie Nygren and sophomore Mary Rodgers are both tied for 19th at 158. Nygren finished the day with rounds of 78-80 and Rodgers posted rounds of 81-77.
Sophomore Belinda George, who is playing as an individual in the event, shot rounds of 78-81 for a total of 159 (T-27th).
WCU leads the 14-team field at 613 followed by UNF with Eastern Kentucky in third place at 622. Daytona State is fourth at 624 followed by ODU (628), Morehead State (637), McNeese State (643), Southern Illinois (648), Charleston Southern (649), Jacksonville (653), James Madison (657), Belmont (664), Austin Peay (668) and Appalachian State (677).
Tiffany Chan of Daytona State tops the medalist standings at 146 (+2) after rounds of 70-76.
Tournament action concludes with a final round of 18 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. North Florida will be playing alongside WCU and EKU in the final round beginning on holes 1-3.
The UNF Intercollegiate features free admission and is open to the public.
