BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The North Florida men's golf team continues its fall season tournament schedule Monday and Tuesday in the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate Hosted by Graeme McDowell.
The Ospreys, who opened the 2013-14 season with a T-11th at the Carpet Capital Collegiate on Sept. 6-8, will make a return visit to prestigious Shoal Creek Country Club looking to follow up a sixth-place finish in last year's event. The 54-hole event features 36 holes of play Monday on the par 72, 7,234-yard layout of SCCC.
Junior MJ Maguire, the team leader in stroke average at 73.00, leads the UNF lineup at the event. Maguire will be joined by fellow juniors Joey Petronio and Parker Jones along with sophomores Austin Padova and Taylor Hancock, who is making his season debut. Senior Taylor Johnson is competing as an individual in the event.
The 12-team field for the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate features some ranked teams led by No. 18 Florida and No. 24 UNF. Other competing teams include tournament host UAB, Georgia Southern, Liberty, Memphis, Missouri, North Texas, Ole Miss, Toledo, Tulsa and UCF.
After 36 holes of play Monday, the tournament is scheduled to conclude with a final round of 18 holes of play on Tuesday. North Florida will be paired with Tulsa and Memphis on Monday beginning play at 8:30 a.m. (CT)
