
Women's Golf Finishes 18th at Kiawah Island

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The North Florida women's golf team carded a final round 317 Tuesday en route to finishing 18th of 32 teams at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.
The Ospreys finished the 54-hole event with a tournament total of 947. Freshmen Kelly Aylwin and Tess Huber led the way for UNF posting final rounds of 77.
Aylwin was the squad's top finisher in the event earning a tie for 47th at 234. Freshman Emelie Alpe, making her debut for the Ospreys, finished tied for 62nd at 236 followed by Huber in a tie for 77th at 238.
Freshman Mary Rodgers (240/T-85th) and junior Kelly Miller (245/T-108th) rounded out the Osprey lineup for the event.
Campbell rallied on the final day to claim the team championship with a tournament total 899, three strokes in front of tournament host College of Charleston (902). The remainder of the Top Five included Troy in third at 906 followed by Richmond (914) and UNC Greensboro (917). CofC's Julie Neumann captured the individual medalist crown with a three-day tally of 219.
The Ospreys will make a quick turnaround as they return to competition at the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational in Jacksonville beginning on Friday.
