GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of North Florida men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision on the road to No. 23 Furman on Sunday afternoon at the Stone Soccer Stadium.
The nationally ranked Paladins had an advantage in shots, taking 22 shots compared to just three by the Ospreys. In addition, FU recorded 10 shots on goal, while UNF was unable to record a shot on goal. Furman took more corner kicks than North Florida (9-to-3), but were whistled for more fouls (16-to-11).
Offensively, the Ospreys were unable to scratch the scoreboard. UNF took three shots on the afternoon. Greg Crowell, Jake Frahm and Alex Morrell each registered shots in the match. Defensively, Kyle Nasta recorded five saves in 90-minutes of action at goalkeeper.
Furman took the lead in the 14th minute as Martin Ontiveros scored his sixth goal of the season off of an assist from Danny Hojaij. The Paladins' defense was able to prevent the Ospreys from scoring so the goal proved to be the match-winner.
The Paladins added a pair of goals before the half. FU's Tyler Peoples scored a goal off a Clint Ritter assist in the 17th minute. John Lung'aho added a goal in the 22nd minute of the match with the helper by Martin Ontiveros.

North Florida returns to Hodges Stadium for the final nonconference match of the season as the Ospreys take on UCF in a match on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:00 p.m.
