JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – University of North Florida women's basketball concludes its final out-of-town regular-season trip on Saturday at ETSU at the MSHA Athletic Center.
UNF will attempt to end the trip on a positive note after having its rally come up short at USC Upstate on Thursday night. With 19 points on the night, Brittany Kirkland led the team in scoring, while surpassing the 1,500-point mark. Kirkland was responsible for UNF's last 11 points. Meanwhile, Kim Baker had her her three career game – and second-straight – with three steals.
Kirkland is expected to become UNF's top starter in program history on Saturday. She enters the game with 108 career starts and is tied with former standout Skye Barber for most starts. Kirkland is already UNF's all-time leader in minutes (3,851).
Jadhken Kerr is getting closer to reaching 200 career three-pointers and becoming the second player in program history to eclipse that mark. Kerr enters Saturday's game with 197 treys.
ETSU dropped its last two games and comes off an 88-82 loss to Jacksonville on Thursday. Four Lady Bucs scored in the double-digits with Destiny Mitchell (21 points) and Natalie Pickwell (20) leading the way. Mitchell and Pickwell are the team's leading scorers with 12.1 and 10.2 ppg averages, respectively. Mitchell is also the team's top rebounder with 8.1 per game and is just six away from 200 boards on the season.
ETSU leads the all-time series 10-3, but UNF won this season's earlier meeting, erasing a 12-point deficit to rally and defeat ETSU by three at UNF Arena on Jan. 12.
Tip-off for the women's game is set for 1:30 p.m., and will be the first of a doubleheader with the men's teams.
