Baseball Continues ASun Play at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of North Florida baseball team continues Atlantic Sun Conference play with a three-game series against Lipscomb at Ken Dugan Field in Nashville, Tenn. The games are set for Friday at 7:00 p.m. (ET), Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (ET) and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of North Florida baseball team continues Atlantic Sun Conference play with a three-game series against Lipscomb at Ken Dugan Field in Nashville, Tenn. The games are set for Friday at 7:00 p.m. (ET), Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (ET) and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
North Florida enters the weekend with a 14-12 overall record and a 6-6 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference, while Lipscomb is 10-15 and 2-4 in the conference.
The Ospreys are 9-6 all-time against the Bisons. North Florida is 6-3 all-time against Lipscomb in Jacksonville, but is just 3-3 against the Bisons in Nashville.
Last season, North Florida went 1-4 overall at Ken Dugan Field. The Ospreys dropped a doubleheader to Belmont at Lipscomb's field after flooding in Nashville forced the two teams to change the venue. UNF went 1-2 at the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament at Dugan Field, defeating No. 28 Florida Gulf Coast for its first tournament victory.
Last season, the Ospreys claimed a pair of victories over the Bisons to claim the series. UNF wan the first two games by one run each, winning 5-4 and 13-12. The Ospreys dropped the final game of the series 18-8.
The last time the two teams met in Nashville, North Florida won the first game of the three-game series, 1-0, but dropped the next two games, falling 6-3 and 11-4.
North Florida enters the week 3-3 (.300) against schools from the state of Tennessee this season. UNF lost a three-game series to East Tennessee State, but swept a three-game series against Belmont.
Scouting the Opposition:
Lipscomb enters the weekend with a 10-15 overall record and a 2-4 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Lipscomb enters the games, having won a nonconference game against Middle Tennessee on Tuesday night.
The Lipscomb Bisons scored two runs in the first inning and that was all they needed in a 2-1 win Tuesday night against Middle Tennessee. In the first inning at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium Diego Martinez walked with one out. Richie Goodenow singled to center field. Both Martinez and Goodenow advanced on a passed ball setting the stage for Josh Chism's two-RBI single to up the middle.
