
Women’s Tennis to Host Buffalo

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team is set to host the University of Buffalo on Wednesday, March 16 in a non-conference match beginning at 2 p.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.
UNF (6-3) is looking to bounce back after being edged, 4-3, by Campbell in the team's last outing. The Ospreys claimed points in the No. 3, 4 and 5 singles matches as Victoria Krook, Melanie Aguirre and Simona Weymar claimed win, respectively.
Weymar has tallied an 8-1 record this season in singles matches while Danielle Day is 7-2. Krook has notched a 5-3 mark and Aguirre is 5-4. Aline Berkenbrock has posted a 3-2 tally since coming back from an early season injury. Melinda Doak is 3-5 on the season. Day and Aguirre have also teamed up in doubles matches for a 7-2 tally while Berkenbrock and Weymar are 4-1.
The Bulls (3-4) fell to Boston University, 6-1, in their last match. Miranda Podlas picked up the lone point for Buffalo and was recently named MAC player of the week. UB was picked to finish fourth in the preseason MAC poll. On the court for the Bulls this season is 2010 second team all-conference selection Aleksandra Petrova.
Following Wednesday's match, the Ospreys will host a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches, beginning with Mercer on Friday, March 18 at 3y p.m. UNF will host Kennesaw State on Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m.
