Biography
2010-11 (junior): First-Team All-Atlanic Sun selection and a Second-Team All-Atlantic Sun honor for doubles with partner Melanie Aguirre… posted a 14-7 singles record and was 7-3 in conference play… played primarily at No. 2 singles, registering an 11-4 mark… also saw time at No. 1 singles and finished with a 3-3 record… Began the season with a 7-0 singles mark and ultimately went 11-1 from Jan. 30-Mar. 25… tallied a 16-6 doubles overall record and an 8-2 mark in the Atlantic Sun with Aguirre… went 13-3 at No. 2 doubles and 2-2 in the No. 1 slot… rode an 11-match winning streak from Mar. 6-Apr. 2… posted an 8-0 sweep over Florida A&M’s No. 1 doubles team of Kathline Durden and Maria Gomez on Jan. 30… also swept Charlotte’s Emmanuelle Briany and Iveta Guneva at No. 2 doubles on Mar. 6, which started the 11-match winning streak… took third place in the A2 Singles at the 8th annual College of Charleston Invitational… defeated Andrie Meiring of Samford and Karolina Grymel of Troy in order to reach the Flight A finals at the 2010 UNF Hampton Inn 9A & Baymeadows Fall Invitational... finished tied for fourth with 10 points in the singles standings at Knights Invitational.
2009-10 (sophomore): Named Second Team All-Atlantic Sun… tallied a 20-4 overall mark, going 2-1 in tournament play and 18-3 in duals playing primarily at the No. 3… secured a win in the A-Sun title game and was named to the All-Tournament team… had a 10-6 record in doubles with partner Melanie Aguirre… the pair teamed up at the No. 2 and picked a win over No. 14 Florida State’s duo of Jessica Sucupira and Federica Suess in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
Prior to UNF: Attended University of Missouri… helped the Tigers to a final ITA team ranking of No. 75 at the end of the 2009 season… had a singles record of 13-9, playing primarily in the No. 4/5 positions… had wins over No. 23 SMU’s Kristen Reid and over No. 61 Colorado’s Franziska Jendrian, both in the No. 4… had a 13-8 record in doubles in the No. 3 position… had doubles wins over No. 61 Colorado, No. 32 Texas, No. 38 Texas A&M and No. 37 Ohio State.
Other Experience: Won the Burger King Southern Open 16s in 2007… she ranked as high as No. 9 in the Florida Section and was always ranked in the top 20… National 16s ranking of No. 49.
Personal: Majoring in Communications… attended Florida Virtual School… daughter of Ronald Day and Julie Day… born Sept. 25.
