Goyins, Bartlett Win Top Doubles Flight At Bedford Cup

TAMPA, Fla. - North Florida Women's Tennis closed out its second weekend of fall competition with a strong showing at the Bedford Cup from Friday through Sunday, highlighted by junior Gabby Goyins and sophomore Aryana Bartlett capturing the top doubles flight championship.

Goyins and Bartlett finished the weekend undefeated at 4-0 in doubles play, earning victories against pairings from Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson and Florida State. The duo opened the tournament with a 6-4 win against FAU before defeating FGCU, 6-2, and Stetson, 6-3, to advance to the Blue Flight East Final. Goyins and Bartlett closed out the weekend with an 8-5 victory against Florida State's Abby Kelliher and Ariana Gilbert to secure the doubles title.

Goyins and Bartlett also added two singles victories apiece in the Gold Flight. Goyins earned three-set victories against FIU's Jelena Vico and UCF's Olivia Bergler, while Bartlett picked up straight-set wins against Stetson's Laura Putz and USF's Paulina Montiel.

North Florida totaled eight doubles victories across four pairings during the three-day tournament. Zoe Dupaty and May Fadida added two wins as a pairing, while Sydney Stark and Jessica Gunter and Emma Kette and Aubrey Effler each collected one. The Ospreys also recorded 15 singles victories, led by three wins from Dupaty.

North Florida continues its fall slate at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships from Oct. 8-13 in Miami, Fla.
