
Ospreys Defeat Buffalo, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis defeated Buffalo, 4-3, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Ospreys (7-3) grabbed the doubles point to get off to a strong start against the Bulls (3-5). UNF claimed a win in the No. 2 as Danielle Day and Melanie Aguirre teamed up for an 8-1 win over Aleksandra Petrova and Marta Stoyanova.
In the No. 3 doubles, Victoria Krook and partner Melinda Doak paired up and claimed an 8-6 victory over Kira Golenko and Tamara Markovic.
UNF claimed three singles wins as Day secured a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Stoyanova in the No. 2. Krook followed that up with a 6-1, 6-3 win in the No. 3, defeating Petrova.
Simona Weymar picked up a point in the No. 5 to help the Ospreys to secure the win. She defeated Miranda Podlas, 6-3, 6-2.
UNF will be back on the court on Friday, March 18 against Atlantic Sun Conference foe, Mercer, beginning at 3 p.m.. The Ospreys will face A-Sun opponent Kennesaw State on Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m.
