BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Despite Jadhken Kerr and Brittany Kirkland hitting for over 20 points each, the University of North Florida women's basketball team fell to Atlantic Sun foe Campbell, 80-73 in double overtime at Pope Convocation Center in Buies Creek, N.C.
“This was a really tough one to lose,” said head coach Mary Tappmeyer. “We had an opportunity to win it at the end of regulation, but we didn't get in a good shot. At the end of the first overtime we were up by three, but when we came back down the court we lost their best three point shooter. I think it was a battle defensively. They outrebounded us in the overtime and I felt that the rebounding down the stretch really hurt us.”
Kerr posted a new career-high 21 points and tied a career-high with five three pointers for the Ospreys (2-10, 0-3 A-Sun). She was 6-of-14 from the field including 5-of-9 from behind the arc.
