The Ospreys' (19-20, 5-3 A-Sun) offense could not help out their starting pitcher sophomore Shaina Dent, who threw a complete game allowing two earned runs on five hits. Dent's woes were attributed to her walks, registering six base on balls.
In the third inning, the Bison were able to take advantage of Dent's control issues with three walks in the inning that gave Lipscomb a free-pass to bases loaded with one out.
The Ospreys were able to escape the third inning only letting up one run but were not able to counter the Bison's score. UNF went three innings hitless until junior Caroline Torre was able to time her swing with Kiihnl's off-speed pitch on the inner half of the plate, but UNF's momentum would be slowed by the ensuing double play to pick off Stephanie McAdam trying to advance on the caught foul ball by the catcher.
The Ospreys had chances to score with runners in scoring position but could not get timely hits like they did during their seven-game winning streak.
In the second game, Lipscomb saw their second pitcher Christen Campbell (8-2) throw another complete game, but this time would be shortened with the Ospreys being run-ruled for the second time this season.
After only having four hits in the first game the Ospreys' offense were again slowed by the Bison's pitching staff.
