
Ospreys Begin Five-Game Homestand Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida softball team will play Atlantic Sun affiliates Belmont on Friday, April 2, at 3 p.m. and Lipscomb on Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. The two doubleheaders will be at the UNF Softball Complex.

The Ospreys (17-18, 3-1 A-Sun) won the first game 2-1 and pulled out the second game 4-2 with the help of sophomore pitcher Shaina Dent's go-ahead RBI triple.
The Ospreys are within one game of .500 after winning the past five games and will have the next five games at home, after spending most of the month of March away
Despite being near the bottom in team batting average in the A-Sun, the Ospreys are second in the conference standings, relying on their pitching and defense. During conference play, UNF is hitting .292 with runners in scoring position and the rotation is holding opponents with a 0.75 ERA.
Through North Florida's five-game winning streak, Findley has become dominant with her 0.85 ERA and is averaging four strikeouts per walk. In the last five games, sophomore Amanda Moseley leads the team with four RBI and junior Stephany Hall leads the team, hitting .357 / .429 / .471 (BA / SLG / OBP).

Offensively, Ashley Byers leads the team in home runs (6), slugging percentage (.514) and is second on the team in on-base percentage (.407).
Lipscomb (25-7, 4-0 A-Sun) sits on top of the A-Sun with a 4-0 record in conference play. The Bison have swept both ETSU and USC Upstate and will play
Previously ranked in the top 25, the Bison have earned the top spot in the conference with their team leading the A-Sun in team batting average (.315) and ERA (1.46)
Abby Keese leads the conference in batting average (.400), slugging percentage (.705), total bases (67) and is third in home runs with seven. In the pitching circle, Whitney Kiihnl is second in the A-Sun with a 0.58 ERA and Christen Campbell is sixth with her 1.25 ERA. The Bison's pitching staff over the course of the season has limited their opponents to a .088 batting average.
