
UNF to Wrap Up Regular Season, Hosting ETSU and Campbell

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's basketball team will wrap up the 2010 regular season at home, hosting East Tennessee State University on Thursday, Feb. 25 in a 5:30 p.m. game. The Ospreys will face Campbell on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 4:30 p.m. on Senior Day.
Both games are at UNF Arena and are doubleheaders with the UNF men's team. If you are unable to attend the games they will be available for viewing at ASun.tv.
The Ospreys (9-18, 6-12 A-Sun) are coming off a 63-59 loss to Kennesaw State last weekend. Junior guard Juliemay Syquio and sophomore guard Brittany Kirkland each had 16 points while sophomore forward Margaret Bell tallied 12 points.
Kirkland leads UNF on the season, averaging 14.2 points per game. Syquio is adding 8.6 points and dishing out four assists per game. Freshman forward Jadhken Kerr is tallying 8.3 points per game while senior forward Arlande Cherizol is grabbing a team-high eight rebounds per game.
ETSU (18-8, 16-2 A-Sun) has already clinched the No. 1 seed in next week's Atlantic Sun Conference women's basketball tournament. Leading the Bucs is TaRonda Wiles with 18 points per game. Siarre Evans is adding 15.7 points and pulling down 10.9 rebounds per game. Tara Davis is notching 11.3 points and Tarita Gordon is adding 10.2 points per game.
The Bucs hold the all-time series lead with a 6-2 advantage including an 82-54 win earlier this season in Johnson City, Tenn. Kirkland had 14 points and Kerr added 11 points. Evans notched 21 points and 14 rebounds. Davis added 16 points and Wiles posted 14 points.
Campbell (14-13, 9-9 A-Sun) is led by Tonisha Baker with 9.3 points. Ashley Williamson is adding 9.0 points while pulling down a team-leading 7.1 rebounds per game.
The Camels hold the 5-3 advantage in the all-time series. CU won the meeting earlier this season, 64-52 in Buies Creek, N.C. Syquio led the Ospreys with 15 points while Kirkland added 13. Kate Cloxton put up 16 points for the Camels and Lauren Yesh tallied 10 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Single-game tickets for women's basketball games are $10 for adults and $8 for youth 17-and-under and senior citizens 55-and-older. One ticket will admit you to both the women's games and the men's games on those days. Children 2-and-under and any current UNF student with a valid Osprey1 Card are admitted free. Student guest passes for those events are $5 and limited to one per student.
