
UNF women remain in strong second despite weather delays

Ospreys see success across the board
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In the second day of the FSU relays, the Ospreys continued to highlight the depth of talent to be found on the team despite the delays caused by rain. The women remain in second place, tied with Syracuse at 15 points.
Ashton McGuire shined in the javelin throw portion of the heptathlon, taking second place with a 35.55m throw, only 12cm less than the first place thrower. In the javelin throw she also took second. The other two heptathlon runners, Andrea Bridges and Christina King, also had strong showings.
Will Pearce ran for a second place finish in the 5000m, coming in ahead of 16 other runners to show what Ospreys are made of and to show how competitive the men were as well.
The women dominated the relays, taking first in the 4x800m. In the 4x200m relay, the combined effort of Charisma Anderson, SaLydia James, Keva Stephens and Ava Rivera took second place behind hosts Florida State.
Rachel Stanley took third in the 400m hurdles, adding the the Ospreys winning day. Anne DelBovo took seventh in the long jump with her 5.08m effort. Also posting strong results was Patrick Canfield, who took fourth in the 10,000m.
UNF remains behind first-day-leader Troy. Florida State and South Florida are tied for third.
