Hernandez Named Men’s Most Outstanding Track Performer To Highlight ASUN Postseason Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida Track and Field junior Rey Hernandez was named 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer on Wednesday.Â
Hernandez scored in five events at the 2026 ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championships from May 14-16. Hernandez bested his program record with a personal-best time of 13.93, his second career sub-14.0 time in the event, to win the Men's 110m Hurdles title on May 16. He scored with a fifth-place time of 10.53 in the Men's 100m and fifth-place time of 53.98 in the Men's 400m Hurdles on May 16. He ran the second leg of the Men's 4x100m Relay that posted a title time of 40.15 and second leg of the Men's 4x400m Relay that recorded a title time of 3:12.52 on May 16. He earned three First Team All-ASUN selections at the meet. Hernandez also reset the program record at the time in the Men's 100m Prelims with a time of 10.49 on May 14.Â

Hernandez earned ASUN Outdoor Track Performer of the Week on April 1. Hernandez was also tabbed 2026 ASUN Indoor Track Performer of the Year on March 17.

Graduate Aiden Arnold, graduate Sebastian Hernandez, junior Andrew Mahorner, sophomore William Owens, graduate Tyrell Pierce, sophomore Alejandro Romagosa, junior Annika Buser, redshirt junior Mackenzie Carney, freshman Rylie Jackson, senior Ana Markovina, junior Katerina Natsiopoulou and junior Nicole Shepherd earned 2026 Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-ASUN honors.
