Three Lady Ospreys will celebrate Senior Day
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida women's swimming and diving team will try to end its dual season on a winning note when it faces off against Georgia Southern at 2 p.m. on Saturday at UNF Aquatic Center.
Senior swimmers Katrina Johnson and Caroline Poling and senior diver Emily Eisenhower will be recognized before the meet as part of Senior Day. It will be their final competition at their home pool.
The Lady Ospreys had a tough go of it in Fort Myers, Fla., last Saturday at Florida Gulf Coast, which came into the meet ranked No. 4 in the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll. But Lyn Ann Nelson stood out for UNF, shattering her own record in the 1000-free with a time of 10:25.47. She also took second in the 500-free, swimming the event in 5:08.89.
Freshman Taylor Crosby captured first in the 100-breast, clocking in at 1:08.76 to set a new season best. She also finished second in the 200-IM with a time of 2:14.45.
Georgia Southern is coming off a tough 123-118 loss to Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association foe Davidson last Saturday in Statesboro, Ga. GSU had eight first-place finishes, led by Courtney Martz's three first-place showings.

Who's Hot: Crosby has been on a tear since swimming her first meet of the season against UNC Wilmington on Jan. 3. She has recorded three- straight first-place finishes in the 100-breast.
Nelson is no stranger to swimming well against Georgia Southern. In last season's meet against the Eagles, she had top finishes in the 500-free and 1000- free. In the 1000, she finished 18 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer.
Notables: Georgia Southern defeated the Lady Ospreys 141-102 last season in Statesboro ... UNF is 2-1 in its last three conference duals ... the Lady Ospreys are 3-1 in home duals this season ... Eisenhower holds the highest score of all CCSA divers in both 1-meter (247.88) and 3-meter (263.25).
