Swimmers return home to take on UNO

Lady Ospreys will try to push dual record to 5-0
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's swimming team returns home for a 4 p.m. meet with New Orleans on Saturday at UNF Aquatic Center. The meet will also mark the program's 25th-anniversary celebration, where former greats will be honored in addition to the program's top 10 moments being unveiled.
The Ospreys defeated New Orleans last season 125-112 in Atlanta in a triple dual with Georgia Tech and Emory. Krysten Nemecek's second-place finish in the 200-breast (2:29.00) helped the Lady Ospreys pick up the win over the Privateers. Maria Bianchi had a strong showing in the 200-IM, placing in third after clocking in at 2:14.77. Emily Eisenhower led UNF on the diving board with a third-place finish in 1-meter and a fourth-place showing in the 3-meter competition.
UNF picked up a dual win over North Carolina A&T on Thursday, Nov. 15 before finishing in fourth at the Davidson Invite Nov. 16-18. Both Eisenhower and junior Debbie Rapoza picked up first place finishes in diving. Eisenhower's score of 246.25 in 3-meter helped her finish at the top of the standings, while Rapoza put up a mark of 227.70 in 1-meter. Freshman Lyn Ann Nelson had the highest finish of any swimmer, taking second-place in 200-free with a season-best time of 1:55.21.

Who's Hot: Junior diver Debbie Rapoza was named the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Diver of the Week on Nov. 20 for her performance at the Davidson Invitational. In addition to her first-place showing in 1-meter diving, she also took second in the 3-meter competition with a 241.35 score.
Notables: Rapoza's Diver of the Week award marked the third time this season the Ospreys have earned that honor … UNF has had a diver earn that recognition following each week they've competed this season … the Lady Ospreys' meet against UNO will be their last until Jan. 5 when they take on Florida State and UNC Wilmington at UNF Aquatic Center … Nelson's time of 1:55.21 in the 200-free at the Davidson Invitational is the fourth-fastest in the CCSA … Nelson also holds the third-fastest time in the 500-free (5:06.03) and the 400-IM (4:37.14) in the CCSA … both Eisenhower and Rapoza rank No. 1 and 2 in 1 and 3-meter diving in the conference.
