Dom Annunziata is beginning his sixth season with the UNF men[apos]s basketball program and his first as the Ospreys[apos] director of basketball operations.
A native of Queens, N.Y., Annunziata retired from the Rutherford, N.J., school district in 1999 after 30 years of service. During his career, he was a teacher and educational supervisor and also coached football, basketball and track. He was the boys basketball coach for 12 years at Rutherford (N.J.) High School, where he led his team to a state sectional title.
Annunziata attended the University of Massachusetts and then played football at American International College in Springfield, Mass., graduating from AIC in 1969 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in business administration. He also graduated from Montclair State College with a master[apos]s degree in administration/supervision.
Prior to his collegiate career, Annunziata played his junior season of basketball at Garfield (N.J.) High School in 1963-64 for former coach and current ESPN analyst Dick Vitale, who was just beginning his coaching career. He is married to the former Jane Wojdyla. The couple has two children, a son Chris and a daughter Dawn, and two grandchildren, Katie and Samantha.
Annunziata[apos]s hobbies include golf and cooking (Italian and Chinese).
