
Men's Basketball Erases Second-Half Deficit, Falls Late To West Georgia In ASUN Tournament First Round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 11 seed North Florida Men's Basketball erased a second-half deficit against No. 6 seed West Georgia, but ultimately fell late, 93-85, in the 2026 ASUN Tournament First Round at Swisher Gymnasium on Wednesday night.Â

Trailing by as much as 23, North Florida cut the second-half margin to four on multiple occasions, the last at 89-85 with 15 seconds left.Â

Senior guard Kamrin Oriol notched a game-high 28 points on 8-17 from the field, in addition to four assists and three rebounds in 40 minutes. He finished the season with 10 or more points in 31 of 32 games and 20 or more points in 16 games.Â

Sophomore guard Kent Jackson turned in 19 points in 33 minutes. He notched 10 or more points in 24 games this season.Â

Graduate student guard/forward Dalton Gayman posted 12 points and redshirt sophomore guard/forward Mason Lee added 11 more points to round out the Ospreys in double figures. Â

Jackson scored the first five points for North Florida. North Florida trailed 17-10 at the initial media timeout in the first half. West Georgia led 27-17 at the under-12-minute media timeout.Â

The margin was cut to as close as six twice in the back portion of the first half at 34-28 with 6:03 minutes left before the break on a Jackson's third three. A 7-0 run by North Florida brought the margin back to six on a jumper from Oriol with 2:41 minutes left before the half. West Georgia led 48-35 at the half.Â
