
Men's Basketball Falls To Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Basketball fell to Jacksonville, 85-61, at UNF Arena on Saturday.
Prior to tipoff, North Florida honored four seniors - Kamrin Oriol, Nestor Dyachok, Dalton Gayman and Devin Hines.Â
Senior guard Kamrin Oriol posted a team-high 22 points on 8-16 from the field and 3-7 from three, in addition to three assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block in 39 minutes. Oriol has led the team in scoring in 21 games.
Graduate student forward Nestor Dyachok finished with 13 points on 3-4 from the field and 7-9 from the free-throw line, in addition to two blocks and two steals in 23 minutes. Graduate student guard/forward Dalton Gayman added 11 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes.
North Florida trailed 49-20 at the half. North Florida responded with a 7-0 run over 2:18 minutes out of the halftime break.Â
Oriol converted on a tough finish at the 14:23-minute mark of the second half to cut the deficit.
Gayman made a layup with under four minutes left in regulation to cut the margin to 21. The margin would not get closer before the eventual final.Â
North Florida outscored Jacksonville, 7-6, in fastbreak points.Â
No. 11-seed North Florida will battle No. 6-seeded West Georgia in the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship First Round at Swisher Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 4.Â
