As a senior, 2007: Pitched one of UNF[apos]s best relief outings of the season against Florida, striking out 8-of-10 Gators and fanning six-in-row in UNF[apos]s 15-8 upset victory (5/8) ... also picked up first career save against UF after tossing four scoreless innings and not allowing a hit ... threw an inning of scoreless relief against Western Michigan in UNF[apos]s 3-2 win (3/7) ... only Osprey to finish with more strikeouts than innings pitched (min. 10 innings).
As a redshirt junior, 2006: Gave up one run and walked one in one inning of work in his lone appearance of the season against Florida A&M on April 11.
As a junior, 2005: Redshirted.
Junior College: Played two seasons at Florida Community College at Jacksonville ... posted a 1-2 record and 7.79 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched as a sophomore in 2004 ... struck out 12 and allowed just one home run for the Stars, helping them to a 26-20 record and a fourth-place finish in the Mid-Florida Conference.
High School: 2002 graduate of Wolfson High School ... played for head coach Scott Mauerbidle.
Personal: Majoring in communications ... born Jan. 24, 1984, in Jacksonville, his hometown ... son of Betty Jones and Lorenzo Sheppard ... serves honorably in the U.S. National Guard.
