Baseball Drops Midweek Game To No. 8 Florida State

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Baseball dropped its midweek game against No. 8 Florida State, 4-1, at Harmon Stadium on Tuesday.Â
Redshirt junior utility player Boone Hosey improved his on-base streak to 27 games with a 1-4 outing. Hosey has now reached base safely in 33 of the 36 games he's played in this season and has recorded a hit in 28 of those contests.
Redshirt freshman outfielder Sean Benjamin turned in a 1-3 outing against No. 8 FSU. Benjamin has posted a hit in 26 of the 35 games he's played in this season.
Florida State opened the scoring with one run in the top of the third inning. The Seminoles plated one run in the top of the fifth and sixth innings to take a 3-0 lead.
Junior infielder Mathew Farner notched his 31st RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning. Farner's sacrifice fly cut North Florida's deficit to 3-1.
Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Schrafft roped a pinch-hit double off the left-field wall in the bottom of the ninth inning, though it wasn't enough to overcome the eventual final margin.
