ATLANTA – A pair of program records fell for North Florida Track and Field at the Georgia Tech Invitational in split-weekend action on Saturday.
Â
"It was a great effort by our group in the Men's 400m Hurdles," Director of Cross Country/Track and Field Jeff Pigg said. "Rey Hernandez ran a nice race with a program-record personal best. Troy also ran a personal best and all three of them delivered big performances here at Georgia Tech. It was also great to see Nataly Walters back in the Women's Triple Jump after injury. It was her first collegiate outdoor meet, and she surpassed our program record in the event. I'm very proud of her performance."
Â
Junior Rey Hernandez bested the program record in the Men's 400m Hurdles with a time of 51.68. He was one of three Ospreys to clock top-10 times in the event with a fourth-place mark, followed by redshirt senior Troy Williams in seventh place at 52.03 and freshman Tayeshawn Ecklund-Rochelle in 10th at 52.70.Â
Â
In her first collegiate outdoor meet, freshman Nataly Walters set the program record in the Women's Triple Jump with a sixth-place mark of 12.26m (40-2.75), which she achieved on her second attempt in the event.Â
Â
Graduate student Tyrell Pierce turned in a 10th-place finish in the Men's 400m with a time of 47.15. Sophomore Rashad Hemissi recorded a third-place finish in the Men's 800m with a time of 1:50.52.Â
