
Ospreys Tally Two More Wins At Spring Break Classic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -Â North Florida softball tallied two more wins at the Spring Break Classic at UNF Softball Complex on Saturday evening.

The Ospreys improve to 23-5 overall and increase their win streak to 10th-consecutive games.
Â
North Florida took down Presbyterian 5-0 in the first game of its doubleheader.Â
Â
With the bases loaded in the third inning, junior infielder Hannah Davila gave North Florida the early lead with a bases-clearing double to make the score 3-0.
Â
A sacrifice fly from sophomore outfielder Grace Shaw would increase UNF's lead to 4-0. Junior utility player Addie Keef would round out the scoring for the Ospreys with an RBI single to right field. Keef would finish the game a perfect 4-4 from the plate.

In the circle for the Ospreys in game one, senior right-handed pitcher Kate Peters earned the win with seven shutout innings and seven strikeouts.

In game two of the doubleheader, the Ospreys jumped out to an early 4-0 lead over the Eagles with an RBI single from junior infielder Bella Cimino and a three-run homer to left field from junior infielder Hannah Davila in the bottom of the first.Â

North Florida extended its advantage to 7-0 in the second inning with RBI singles from Keef and sophomore catcher Caiden Oliva. Georgia Southern responded with a pair of runs in the third.

Senior infielder Kelsey Vogel began the bottom half of the frame with a double to left center and came around to score after an RBI triple from graduate outfielder Hallie Langford. Cimino belted a homer to center field to score two more runs and make the score 10-2 after three innings.

Georgia Southern would tack on a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings to narrow the margin to 10-4.Â

Cimino would belt her second home run of the game into left field to make the score 13-4 and send the Ospreys home early.
