Ospreys Shutout Colgate in Saturday Split at River City Leadoff

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball split their slate on the second day of the River City Leadoff on Saturday evening at UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys dropped their first game of the season to North Dakota State in a 2-0 result, but bounced back in a big way with a 9-0 run-rule shutout in five innings against Colgate. UNF struck early in the first inning against Colgate and never looked back with at least one run scored in each of its four frames at the plate.
Bella Cimino recorded a pair of multi-hit games combining for a 4-for-6 hitting day with two RBI. Hannah Davila was also impressive against NDSU with a two-hit game of her own for the first time this season.
Macie Hunolt was great in the circle once again with three more scoreless innings added to her early-season totals against Colgate to start the year with a 2-0 record. Kate Peters also spun a complete game against NDSU with three stakeouts, while Kadyn Camper finished the game against Colgate with a pair of strikeouts and no hits allowed in two innings pitched.
