JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis head coach Catherine Dunagan has agreed to a multi-year contract extension through the 2028 season, as announced by Director of Athletics Nick Morrow on Tuesday afternoon.
"Catherine [Dunagan] has elevated our women's tennis program to new heights, both competitively and academically," Morrow said. "Her leadership has brought multiple ASUN titles, NCAA tournament success, and national recognition to UNF. Extending her contract reflects our deep confidence in her vision and commitment to excellence. We're proud to have her continue leading our student-athletes and representing the Osprey spirit."
Dunagan was named North Florida's head coach on Aug. 16, 2019. In six seasons at the helm, Dunagan has claimed an overall record of 85-43 and a 35-7 mark in ASUN Conference play.
Since 2019, Dunagan has collected two ASUN Tournament Championships, three regular season ASUN titles, two ASUN Coach of the Year awards, the first-ever NCAA Singles and Doubles appearance in program history and the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history.
Dunagan has guided North Florida's student-athletes to three ASUN Player of the Year awards, three ASUN Doubles Pair of the Year honorees and one ASUN Freshman of the Year nod, as well as six First Team, four Second Team and one Third Team All-Conference selections.
"I am truly blessed to work under such outstanding leadership," Dunagan said. "Since my arrival, UNF and our program have experienced tremendous growth, and I am excited to contribute to its continued success in this new era of college athletics. I am deeply grateful to Nick Morrow, Donna Kirk, and the leadership of President Limayem, and I am honored by their confidence in me to lead this incredible program."

With Dunagan at the helm, North Florida claimed a victory in the 2021 NCAA Regionals First Round against No. 25 Ole Miss. The Ospreys finished the 2020-21 season ranked as the No. 49 team in the nation.
Dunagan tallied her most single-season conference wins in 2022, claiming an 8-1 record in conference play and one of her three ASUN regular season titles.
Under Dunagan's guidance, North Florida was ranked the No. 10 team in the final ITA Regional Rankings of the 2023 season. One year prior, Dunagan captured the program's first-ever regular-season victory over an SEC opponent, defeating Missouri on Feb. 27, 2022. In her third season with the Ospreys, she reached 100-career wins against Lipscomb on Apr. 23, 2021.
