Men's Tennis Announces Full Slate for 2024-25 Season

Ospreys to Compete in Four Fall Tournaments, 22 Matches in Spring

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis announces its full slate for the 2024-25 season with four fall tournaments, along with 22 spring matches on Thursday afternoon.

The Ospreys will make its debut next month at the Mercer Invitational from Oct. 3-6, followed with three additional fall tourneys. A total of 22 matches, including 12 at home, and eight conference matchups highlight the spring schedule for UNF on its quest to defend its ASUN Championship titles from Apr. 17-20.

"We are really excited about our upcoming schedule this season," said head coach John Collins. "We have an opportunity to play some of the best teams and events in Florida, the Southeast, and in the nation. The ASUN schedule is another important piece for us and we are driven to be the toughest team in the league. Go Ospreys!"

Fall Tournament Season
North Florida begins its fall tournament slate at the Mercer Invitational from Oct. 3-6 to kick off John Collins' tenure as head coach. The ITA Southeast Regional will take place shortly after for seven consecutive days from Oct. 9-15 hosted by UCF in Orlando, Fla.

The tourney season continues at the Bedford Cup hosted by Florida from Oct. 24-27 in Gainesville, Fla. They complete their fall season with a three-day event at the Stetson Invitational from Nov. 8-10.

Non-Conference Home Stretch
The Ospreys start off its spring 2024 campaign with its first home match under head coach John Collins against Troy on Jan. 11 at the UNF Tennis Complex. It is followed up by another home weekend match against Florida Atlantic on Jan. 18.

After a quick road trip over to Gainesville, Fla., for its road opener against Florida on Jan. 20, UNF returns home the next day to host South Carolina on Jan. 21. The Ospreys will then return to Mercer on Jan. 25, followed by a home match against Gardner-Webb on Jan. 27.

Non-Conference Road Stretch
UNF starts its longest stretch of road games against Portland, Utah and Washington from Jan. 31-Feb. 2 in Seattle, Wash. After its return home for a match against USF on Feb. 7, the team will make its way up to face off against UNC Wilmington on Feb. 9.

Just before conference play, the Ospreys finish out the non-conference slate with just three home matches over a span of just under five weeks. They will start with Kennesaw State on Feb. 14, host UCF two weeks later on Feb. 28, and finish with Cleveland State on Mar. 11.

Atlantic Sun Play
Back-to-back road matches start off the conference schedule for the Ospreys with trips to Queens and Eastern Kentucky from Mar. 14-16. The next weekend will be its ASUN home opener against Bellarmine on Mar. 21, along with Austin Peay at home on Mar. 23.

Another home weekend will be on deck afterwards with in-state rivals FGCU and Stetson coming into town from Apr. 4-6. The final road trip of the season will come against Lipscomb and North Alabama from Apr. 11-13, to finish off the regular season.

The 2024 Atlantic Sun Championship tournament will be hosted by North Florida, who look to defend their conference crown from Apr. 17-20 at the UNF Tennis Complex.

Of Note (Spring '25)
  • 22 matches, 14 of which are non-conference and eight in league play.
  • A total of 12 of the 22 matches will be played at home to go with their 10 contests on the road.
  • Season-long stretch of four straight home matches, along with three matches being the longest road trip.
  • North Florida plays six in-state foes (FAU, Florida, USF, UCF, FGCU, Stetson).
  • North Florida plays across seven different states (Florida, Georgia, Washington, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama).
  • Five Power Four contests on the year against Florida, South Carolina, Utah, Washington and UCF.
  • The Ospreys will see four teams for the first time in program history with South Carolina, Portland, Utah and Washington on deck.
  • Will face against teams from 12 conferences in ASUN, American, Big 12, Big South, Big Ten, Colonial, C-USA, Horizon, Southern, SEC, Sun Belt and WCC.
  • Also will play four matches against teams that made last year's NCAA Championship, including Florida, UCF, Cleveland State and UNC Wilmington.
