Men's Tennis's Youssef Labbene Named ASUN Player Of The Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Tennis's Sophomore Youssef Labbene has been named the ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday.

"Youssef stepped up for us big time and led us in both doubles and singles on court one," Head Coach John Collins remarked. "He has been improving in each match that we play and I'm excited to see him get recognition for his hard work."

Labbene picked up a singles and doubles win to help North Florida defeat the College of Charleston, 5-2 on Friday, Feb. 6.

He paired up with freshman Aron Major to grab a 6-2 win on court one and clinch the doubles point for the Ospreys. It marked the third-consecutive match that Labbene has won at the top doubles position.

Slotted at the top singles line for the first time in his career, Labbene secured a straight-set win, 6-4, 6-3.

North Florida will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m., when it hosts UNC Wilmington at UNF Tennis Complex.
