JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida baseball (18-22, 8-12 ASUN) could not hold on to an early four-run lead in the middle game of the weekend series, as they fell to Stetson (28-15, 14-6 ASUN), 10-6, in 10 innings on Saturday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.
The Ospreys started off hot in the first inning with four runs scored highlighted by a solo shot from
Connor Moore in the first at-bat of the game. Stetson responded not soon after with two runs of their own in the top of the second inning.
UNF was able to get those runs back in the third with an RBI single from
Cade Bush, followed with a ball put in play by
Tyler Gerteisen to score the Ospreys' sixth run. Stetson had a two-run home run in the fifth inning to cut the lead to two.
Another two-run homer from the Hatters tied the game in the seventh inning. The Ospreys had an opportunity in the bottom of the ninth with runners on first and third, but Stetson forced extra innings, where they scored four runs in the 10th inning and walked away with the series win.
