CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Florida women's tennis (12-9) defeats Queens (1-21), 6-1, to complete its regular season on a strong note on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys put together a great showing in doubles play taking the point easily against the Queens. UNF continued their winning ways in singles play taking five out of the six courts giving them the 6-1 win over the Royals.
Amy Kaplan and
Alisa Lyshko took court one after a quick sweep of the Royals. With court two in a tight contest,
Jasmin Makela and
Sofia Snitko won on court three to aid the Ospreys in claiming the 1-0 point over Queens heading into singles play.
With Queens tying it up early on in singles play due to an early retirement from
Amy Kaplan, the Ospreys needed three out of the remaining five courts to take home the victory. UNF not only won three straight courts, but took all of the remaining courts with a thrilling tiebreak ending for Snitko, where she won, 11-9, in the third set to give UNF the 6-1 victory.
