Women's Tennis Concludes Fall Slate With Strong Outings At UNF Fall Invite

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis made its mark in the final event of its fall slate at the UNF Fall Invite, with stellar singles wins from Aryana Bartlett and an appearance in the Flight B Doubles Final from Gabby Goyins and Jasmin Makela from Nov. 7-9 at UNF Tennis Complex.
Bartlett earned her first singles victory of the week over Southern Mississippi on Friday, commanding the win 6-4. Carrying her momentum into Friday afternoon, Bartlett advanced to the Flight E Singles Semifinals with another victory over Southern Mississippi, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
Makela added a strong performance in singles for the Ospreys, earning a spot in the Flight E Singles Semifinals over conference foe Eastern Kentucky, 6-4, 6-3.
On the doubles courts, Goyins and Makela took a victory against a Power-Four opponent on Friday, advancing to the Flight B Doubles Semifinals over Maryland, 6-1. Later that afternoon, Goyins and Makela earned a spot in the Flight B Doubles Final – defeating yet another Power-Four duo (Louisville), 6-3.
Goyins continued her success on the singles court, capturing a West Flight D Singles Championship with victories over Southern Mississippi in the semifinals, 6-4, 6-2, and Florida State in the final on Sunday, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
