Ospreys Lose Close Battle with UC Davis, Fall to No. 9 Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - North Florida beach volleyball (9-7) continued its West Coast road trip at California Polytechnic State University falling 3-2 in a close match with UC Davis and suffering a 4-1 defeat to No. 9 Cal Poly on Saturday.

Mariana Feliciano Sanchez and Mackenzie Murphy recorded their 12th win of the season, while Cameron Humphries and Hayden Wooldridge went 1-1 on the day to improve their record to 10-2 on the season.

UC Davis got out to an early 2-0 lead with wins in flights four and one. Feliciano Sanchez/Murphy won their court in two sets to get the Ospreys first match point of the contest. Rezentes/Pierce forced a third set in their match and won, but the Aggies clinched their third match point in the fifth flight to secure the 3-2 win.

The Mustangs got out to a two-point lead to start the match in flights one and three. Cameron Humphries/Hayden Wooldridge recorded the Ospreys sole match point, dispatching their opponents in two sets. Cal Poly secured the next two match points even with Iris Fletcher/Katie Camp taking their court to three sets.
