
Track & Field Holds Record-Breaking Day at Florida University Invitational

Pedroza, Hernandez and Springer Overturn Program Marks
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field wrapped up the indoor season with three broken records and four first-place finishes at the Florida University Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Robert Pedroza finished the 800m with another program record. The senior overturned his previous record from last week, updating the record book for a consecutive meet, as the senior clinched the race in 1:49.93.
Camden Springer sprinted vigorously, notching a record-breaking performance in the men's 400-meter. The junior overturned George Escobar's record set in 2019, as the Nova Scotia native clinched the race in 48.34.
Rey Hernandez had a phenomenal performance after clinching a new program record in the 60-meter hurdles. The Freshman overturned Ryan Thomas' record placed in 2023, setting a new record of 8.26 in the race.

Rey [Hernandez] was .01 off the record in the preliminary and ran a strong final to secure the top UNF mark. Robert [Pedroza] has great range and is in good shape. He looked great last week and topped the mark today with a strong race. All of these guys are focused and working hard on the track. We hope to continue great racing.Isa [Leen] looked good after a week off. She is getting primed for the ASUN meet."

"Hannah [Martin] ran her best race year, winning that mile. She is in the best shape of her life and is finishing her career with some nice marks. Erica [Fisher] continues to show range and race well, as she ran a nice mile Nicole [Shepherd] keeps consistent and was clean through 1.65. She is doing very well in her first indoor season. We are looking forward to two weeks of prep and heading back to Gainesville for the ASUN Championships."
