Also the Fourth Honor of the Season After Ninth Career Win
ATLANTA - After placing first overall for the ninth time in his collegiate career, senior Nick Gabrelcik lands his 15th career ASUN Golfer of the Week award, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
"Another award for Nick [Gabrelcik]," said head coach Scott Schroeder. "I know he loves getting these, but will keep pressing on to get some big ones at the end of the year."
Gabrelcik picks up his fourth weekly honor of the season, as well as back-to-back weeks as the recipient of the award. Him and Higgins have now combined for sixth honors overall in eight tournaments played on the season.
The Trinity, Fla., native earned his second medalist crown of the season, as he carded 13-under 197 overall to match his career-best  54-hole score. He notched all three rounds in the 60s, highlighted by his 6-under 64 final round to beat out his own teammate, Andrew Riley.
With the win at the Gator Invitational, Gabrelcik strengthened his lead as the No. 3 collegiate golfer in the country, according to the PGA Tour University rankings. The senior has placed inside the top 15 in every tournament played so far this season with four top-three finishes and seven top-10 finishes in eight events.
The Ospreys take a much-needed break before returning to action as hosts of The Hayt from Mar. 9-11 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
