WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore Luke Balaskiewicz and freshman Luke Gossett finished inside the top 40 on the individual leaderboard to lead University of North Florida Men's Golf at the Byran Bros Collegiate on Tuesday.Â
Balaskiewicz carded a 1-under 70 score in Round 3 to propel himself up 16 spots into tied for 36th overall at 3-over 216 (71-75-70). He notched an even-par round to open the event. Balaskiewicz holed eight birdies total and finished tied for the fourth-most pars in the field with 38.Â
In his collegiate debut, Gossett carded an even-par score in Round 2 to help finish tied for 36th on the individual leaderboard at 3-over 216 (73-71-72). Balaskiewicz carded three birdies in the final eight holes of Round 2. He holed seven birdies total and was also tied for the fourth-most pars in the field with 38.
North Florida finished tied for 11th overall on the team leaderboard and was tied for the most pars total in the event with 174.
Senior Danny Erickson finished just outside the top 50 on the individual leaderboard. He carded an even-par score in Round 2 and finished tied for 52nd overall at 6-over 219 (74-71-74). Erickson notched a team-high nine birdies total in the event, including four in Round 3.
