
Men's Golf Starts Second at Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate

Serra, Erickson and Chase All Among Top 10 Overall
LAHAINA, Hawaii - North Florida men's golf had its best round of the season with an 18-under 266 team score on their way to a second-place start at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate hosted by Hawaii on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys played their best golf across the Pacific Ocean with four Ospreys scoring in the 60s, led by Filippo Serra's 6-under 65 score. Serra joined Chase Carroll and Danny Erickson with six birdies each for all of them to be among the top 10 players of the stacked 21-team field.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Serra carded six birdies and an eagle across his first 18 holes to hit a career-best 6-under 65.
- Carroll followed Serra's lead with six birdies as well, including four in his last six holes, to be 5-under 66.
- Erickson tied with Carroll in the top 10 with a 5-under 66 mark after being the third Osprey to score six birdies in the first round.
- Jason Duff finished his day with a 2-under 69 score with five birdies to be the fourth UNF player with a score in the 60s.
- Brett Schell completed his opening round strong with three birdies in the last four holes to be at 1-over 72.
- The Ospreys join No. 2 Oklahoma as the only teams to have three players ranked in the top 10 overall after day one.
- UNF is currently placed among four top-50 teams, including seven Power Five teams, after their 18-under performance.
