Women's Tennis Set to Compete in Bedford Cup

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis continues its great start to the fall season when they travel down south for the Bedford Cup hosted by Miami from Oct. 4-6 in Coral Gables, Fla. Hosted annually each fall, the Bedford Cup features Division I programs throughout the state of Florida.

This season will be the 11th consecutive year of the tournament for the Ospreys. Play commences each day at 9 a.m., with doubles and singles matches throughout the day.

On Friday, prepare each athlete will be prepared to play one round of doubles and two singles matches with possibly another doubles match as well. Each player will be guaranteed two singles and two doubles matches over the weekend.

All eight Ospreys on the team will once again be making an appearance this weekend at the Bedford Cup. Anslee Long, Gabby Goyins and Aryana Bartlett look to improve on their 3-0 singles starts to the fall seasons, while Laurie Barendse and Nicole Alfaro Solis joins Long and Bartlett with 3-0 doubles starts.

Scoring Format

Singles: Two out of three sets with no AD, with a 10-point tiebreaker for the third set
Doubles: One set to six with no AD
