Three Late Summer Additions Introduced to Roster
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's golf starts its 2023-24 season at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate hosted by Tennessee from Sept. 8-10 in Loudon, Tenn.
The Ospreys return its core three players from last season with Nick Gabrelcik, Robbie Higgins and Davis Lee all entering their senior seasons. The squad also introduces transfers Andrew Riley and Brett Schell, as well as true freshman Chase Carroll, as late summer additions to the 2023-24 Osprey roster.

- Won PBA's first national championship as an individual at the NCAA National Tournament at (-12).
- Won the NCAA South / Southeast Regional where he opened with a school-record round of 62.
- Broke the single-season scoring average record with a 70.2.
- Was named a PING GCAA First Team All-American and to the All-Region team.
- Also won first ever GCAA Arnold Palmer award in 2023.
- Had seven top-10 finishes in his 11 events throughout the season.

- Averaged 72.88 per round over his career, including 72.23 during the 2023 season.
- His best scores at Ole Miss were 64 for 18 holes in 2022-23 and 201 for 54 holes in 2021-22.
- Finished career as a Rebel with a medalist crown, three top-five finishes, four top-10 finishes and six top-20 finishes.

TOURNAMENT NOTEBOOK
- The Ospreys will be playing in the Visit Knoxville Collegiate for the first time in program history, as it's the inaugural meet for Tennessee.
- They return to the state of Tennessee for the first time since placing fifth at the Mason Rudolph Championship from Apr. 10-12, 2023.
- UNF has opened the past two fall seasons at the Rod Myers Invitational hosted by Duke, placing in the top five as a team both times.
- First of five fall tournaments, as well as only one of two three-day meets of the fall season.
- Will open the season competing on a par-70 course against 14 teams.
- The field includes eight Power Five teams, including Tennessee, Ole Miss, Clemson and Miss State.
- UNF will have a lineup of a graduate, two seniors, a junior and a freshman.
- One round of 18 holes total will be played on each day from Friday through Sunday.
- North Florida will be grouped with Wisconsin and Cincinnati for the first round on Friday, Sept. 8, with the first start time at 9:45 a.m., off the first hole.
- They will be grouped against in the second round on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 9:50 a.m., and will conclude play on Sunday, Sept. 10.
FROM THE 19TH HOLE
- Gabrelcik is fresh off helping Team USA completing the comeback against Team Great Britain & Ireland in the 149th Walker Cup in Scotland. He also has been named to the Haskins Award Preseason Watch List and opened as No. 4 in the PGA University individual rankings.
- Higgins is coming off his second consecutive season as a First Team All-ASUN selection and an ASUN All-Tournament honoree. He looks to improve his game after leading the team in rounds under par with 22 total, as well as six top-10 finishes with a medalist crown at Northwestern.
- Lee enters his fifth season as a graduate student for the Ospreys as one of two players to play in all 13 tournaments last season. He will help lead UNF to another successful season with sights set on an ASUN title and returning to the NCAA Championships.
- Riley makes the lineup as a recent transfer from Palm Beach Atlantic after taking home the medalist crown at the D-II National Championship meet in 2023. He also started 11 events for PBA his sophomore season, while breaking the single season scoring average record of 70.2.
- Carroll comes in at the last spot on the five-man lineup for UNF as one of three true freshman signees over the offseason. He has had recent success over the summer on junior tours, as his most recent was a fifth overall finish at Mizuno / Keith Mitchell Junior Championship.
