
TOURNEY TIDBITS: 2023 ASUN Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's golf is ready to defend its conference title when the Ospreys compete in the ASUN Championship from Apr. 16-18 in Owens Cross Roads, Ala.
The Ospreys will join a field of 13 squads within the conference, including two newcomers in Austin Peay and Queens. UNF is one of three ASUN teams ranked in the top 100 of Golfstat's team rankings, only behind No. 73 Kennesaw State and No. 92 Lipscomb.
Christin Eisenbeiss looks to repeat as an ASUN All-Tournament performer after sharing fourth overall during last season's meet. Jessie Cai and Daniela Gonzalez also compete in the conference meet to help the Ospreys win their third team title in program history last season.

TOURNAMENT NOTEBOOK
- This is the 10th time that the Ospreys will be competing against its conference opponents in the ASUN Championship.
- UNF has won three team titles over the past six years that the ASUN has hosted a meet.
- Have sights set on back-to-back conference championships and their fourth team title since their debut season in 2013.
- The Ospreys will be looking to win their first team title of the season to expand their streak of five straight years with at least one team title.
- Last season, Eisenbeiss placed inside the top four individuals, while Cai also placed among the top 10 as well.
- UNF has had 24 players finish in the top 10 of the ASUN tournament since 2015, including nine top-five placements.
- Eighth tournament played on the year outside the state of Florida, as well as first event played in Alabama since the USA Intercollegiate in Mobile, Ala., to open the 2019-20 season.
- This week's lineup features a graduate, a senior, two juniors and a redshirt sophomore.
- The field features a trio of top 100 teams, which include No. 73 Kennesaw State and No. 92 Lipscomb.
- The conference championship will tee off Sunday morning and conclude Tuesday afternoon.
FROM THE 19TH HOLE
- Eisenbeiss has been the best golfer this season with eight top-25 finishes, four top-10 finishes and a medalist crown at the Lady Paladin. She hopes to improve on to her 72.41 scoring average and 10 rounds under par on the year with her sights set on winning her first ASUN individual title.
- Gonzalez sports a 75.30 scoring average, five rounds under par and a top-25 finish for her 2023 campaign. The graduate looks to help the Ospreys to back-to-back team titles in the conference during her last season with UNF.
- Cai has stayed consistent this season with four-top 25 finishes, a top-10 finish and five rounds under par, along with a 74.78 scoring average. She will be making her 10th start in an event this season alongside Eisenbeiss and Gonzalez.
- Sarah Scott has been good for the Ospreys as of recent with four events played and the second-best scoring average on the team at 74.58. Her first top-25 finish of her UNF career came in her latest event at the Ironwood Invitational to help her tune up for this upcoming week.
- Kaitlynn Washburn rounds out the squad that will be traveling to the ASUN meet at Hampton Cove. She holds a 78.14 scoring average and has competed in seven of the nine events so far this season.
