Washburn Leads Ospreys Tied for Sixth at 1-Over

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. - No. 100 North Florida women's golf opens postseason play with a top-four position among the conference field during the first round of the ASUN Championship on Sunday afternoon.

The Ospreys sit tied for fourth with No. 73 Kennesaw State and Eastern Kentucky at 20-over par after putting two players in the top 15 individuals. They sit 10 strokes back of Florida Gulf Coast, who holds the lead though 18 holes at the conference meet.

Kaitlynn Washburn stands tall as the lead Osprey scoring during the first day with 12 total pars to notch a top-six standing. She has her sights set on her first top-25 finish of her career after matching her career-high 18 hole score for a fourth time this season at 2-over 74.

Washburn leads the team in pars with 12 total to post 2-over 74, which puts her tied for sixth overall.
The redshirt-sophomore matched her career-high 18-hole score for a fifth time in the opening round.
She is the only person in the field with an under-par average on par-three holes at 1-under.
Christin Eisenbeiss had a great start with two birdies in the first three holes on her way to 3-over 75 with a share of 14th overall.
The newly selected ASUN Co-Golfer of the Year holds a top-three mark with three total birdies, as well as a top-four standing for par-five average at 1-under.
Sarah Scott had one of the best back nine performances by an Osprey this season with birdies on holes six through eight holes to share 32nd overall at 7-over 79.
She leads all ASUN players for most birdies through the first 18 holes with seven total and has a top-five average on par-four holes at even-par through the first day.
Daniela Gonzalez and Jessie Cai each had two birdies on the day to share 39th and 54th overall respectively to round out the first day for the Ospreys.
UNF sits in first among all ASUN teams for most birdies (16), while also being third for average par-five score (3-over).
