North Florida Sweeps Mercer, Cruises By No. 20 Coastal Carolina
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball's home opening doubleheader couldn't have gone much better as the Ospreys (4-3) swept Mercer and cruised past No. 20 Coastal Carolina, 4-1, Friday, March 3.
The win against Mercer (0-6) moved UNF to 3-1 in home openers at The Coop as the Ospreys began their fourth season at the on-campus complex. The win against the Chanticleers (3-3) was the first win against a ranked foe under head coach Doug Wright. It was also the first win against a ranked team since the 2021 ASUN Championship match against No. 16 Stetson.

UNF didn't drop a set at any court in a rout of Mercer in the day's opener. Michaela Rezentes and Katie Camp clinched things at the second slot, while Zoe Cahill and Kelly McConekey added a win at the extras slot.
The victory secured the inaugural win at home for seven different Ospreys as UNF improved to 24-2 against the Bears.

UNF overcame a 1-0 deficit to post four-unanswered wins, not including a straight-sets win at the extras slot.Â
Coastal won at the fourth slot, but freshman Mackenzie Murphy and sophomore Mariana Feliciano-Sanchez won a crucial three-set match, tying things up.
The freshmen came up clutch at the third slot with another hard-fought win, the second in a row that featured a comeback from a one-set deficit. Presley Murray and Madison Espy won at the third slot, giving UNF the lead.Â
The top pair of Audrey Brooks and Iris Fletcher won by three in the first frame and grinded out a dramatic clincher, 25-23, in the second frame. Rezentes and Camp added icing on the cake, winning in three frames.
