Ospreys Tally Multiple First Place Times
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field had another successful day of competition at the RADD Sports College Invitational on Friday afternoon. In their second indoor collegiate meet of the season, the Ospreys carried on the momentum from day one to set the tone on the final meet day of the weekend. Timothy Doyle outpaced several contenders, placing ahead of competition in first overall for the 1600m. Doyle has improved significantly during his time with the Ospreys, as he set a lifetime mark of 4:10.15 in the race. The Ospreys grabbed a trio of top times on the day.
The Orlando, Fla., native also maintained exceptional strides in the 800m run placing second overall. The Ospreys brought competitive speed and endurance during their subsequent trip to Gainesville over the course of the weekend.
FINISH LINE
Men
- Doyle added a personal-best mark of 4:10.15 to his resume.
- Doyle grabbed the runner-up title in the men's 800m at 1:53.14.
- Macauley Franks ran well in the 800m, placing first overall after crossing the finish line at 1:51.68.
- Franks also earned the top Osprey spot overall in the race.
- Jared Vazquez put forth great strides finishing the 800m at 1:54.62.
- Ryan Thomas earned the fourth rank overall in the 60m hurdles prelims.
- Seth Martinez set a lifetime mark of 14:38.98 in th 5k while also finishing first in the race.
- Kameron Wallizada maintained a phenomenal pace to earn second in the meet, in which he set a personal-best of 14:47.12 in the 5k.
- Cole Perry, Justin Tackling and Thomas Weiler all performed well, filling out the top five in the race.
Women
- Emma Jane Schlageter added a third top Osprey finish to her rank, as she was third overall in the women's mile at 4:58.55.
- Kaley Petrosky added a new lifetime mark after clearing the 1.70m bar in the women's high jump.
- Petrosky earned the third spot overall for the Ospreys in the event after significant leaps in the meet.
- Isa Leen turned in a remarkable performance during her race, securing the runner-up title in the 5k.
- Leen not only earned the top spot for the Ospreys, but also placed with a new personal-best time of 17:37.15.
- Raquel Lespasio also maintained notable strides, earning the third-place rank in the race at 18:25.11.
- Emma Millson and Billie Castillo also ran well, finishing the race just over 18 minutes earning spots in the top five.
- Ella Chandler ran well earning second for the Ospreys in the 800m.
