
TOURNEY TIDBITS: 2022 Lewis Chitengwa Memorial

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - No. 39 North Florida men's golf looks to bounce back from its performance at Augusta when it competes in the final regular season tournament at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial hosted by Virginia from Apr. 11-12 in Charlottesville, Va.
The Ospreys will have one final chance to tune up their play before heading into the ASUN Tournament at the end of the month. They will play in a 12-team field against five teams in the top 100 and two teams in the top 40.
UNF has finished in the top three in four of six tournaments this spring, including a team title at The Hayt. Nick Gabrelcik will also be searching for his seventh top-10 placement of the season, while Davis Lee looks to build momentum aiming for back-to-back top-15 finishes heading into the conference meet.

- This is the first time the Ospreys will be playing at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial in program history, as it is their first home event for UVA since the Cavalier Classic in 2011.
- This will be just the third tournament this spring north of the state of Florida and the second consecutive invite outside of Florida.
- No ASUN opponents will be playing against UNF for a second straight tournament.
- The Field will feature 12 teams and is headlined by No. 20 Tennessee and No. 26 Charlotte ranked in the top 30.
- The Ospreys will play 36 consecutive holes on Monday and conclude the tourney on Tuesday with 18 holes.
- Lee was the leading Osprey scorer at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational with 13 total birdies to help him get to a score of 3-under 213.
- Gabrelcik scored 1-over 217 combined at Augusta, which gave him his seventh top-25 finish of the season and his 15th top-25 finish for his career.
- Higgins had a strong final round last week with a 1-under 71 round to finished tied for 42nd on the leaderboard.
- Carroll finished in the top 50 in the Augusta invite scoring back-to-back rounds of 2-over 74 to finish within the top 50.
- Duff will be playing in his first tournament since The Hayt in March after not participating at Augusta this past week.
